Literary Essays and Civil Rights

Students are hard at work learning about themes in literature using a diverse collection of books about the Civil Rights Movement. As we explore the history through the perspective of children, we are engaged in Courageous Conversations with our compass. Along with this important learning, we are discovering themes and messages in these beautifully written books and preparing to construct our first literary essay.
